  • Cholecystectomy - Gall Bladder Removal
    • Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (Gall Bladder removal)
      Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is the removal of the gall bladder through a special instrument with a lens (laparoscope). Three or four other special instruments (trocar) are inserted into the abdomen (belly) through small incisions to assist the doctor to remove the organ. This is an outpatient surgery.
    • Open Cholecystectomy (Gall Bladder removal)
      An Open Cholecystectomy is the removal of the gall bladder through an incision into the abdomen on the right side. You will stay in the hospital after surgery
  • Hernia Repair - Epigastric
  • Hernia Repair - Femoral
  • Hernia Repair - Inguinal
    A hernia is a protrusion of an organ or tissue through an abnormal opening. There are different types of hernias: inguinal (groin), umbilical (navel), femoral (groin) and ventral (middle of the abdomen). The incision is made at the location. This may be an outpatient surgery or may require you to stay in the hospital, depending on where the hernia is located.
  • Thyroidectomy - (Removal of thyroid gland)
    A Thyroidectomy is the removal of the thyroid gland which is located in the front portion of the neck. You will stay in the hospital after surgery.
  • Stomach and Bowel
    • Colectomy - Total - and Ileostomy - (Bowel, Colon or Intestine removal)
      The colon is a muscular tube which goes from the lower end of the stomach to the rectum. The bowel is divided into the Small Intestine and the Large Intestine. Each of these has different sections. There are many different types of surgery for the bowel. Your doctor will explain to you what part of the bowel your surgery involves and what you can expect after surgery in regards to your eating habits. You will stay in the hospital after surgery.

  • Breast
    • Mastectomy - Simple or Modified Radical
      A simple mastectomy is the removal of the entire involved breast tissue without lymph nodes being removed. A Modified Radical Mastectomy is done after a tissue biopsy shows cancer. This surgery is done in hopes of decreasing the spread of the cancer. It is the removal of the involved breast tissue and all of the lymph nodes in the underarm area. You will stay in the hospital after surgery.
    • Mastectomy - Male Subcutaneuosl
    • Breast Biopsy - Lumpectomy
      A biopsy of breast tissue is removal of suspicious tissue for examination under a microscope. This may be done with only a needle inserted into the lump to take a sample. It may also be the complete removal of the entire lump to send for examination. This is an outpatient surgery.
    • Axillary (underarm) Node Dissection
      A lymph node is part of the lymphatic system in the body that act as a filter system to help us fight infections. These nodes are located throughout the body but there are groups of the nodes under the arm and in the groin. This surgery is the removal of the axillary nodes through an incision under the arm. This incision is a separate incision from a breast biopsy. The removal of the axillary nodes allows the doctor to see if the cancer has spread to any other parts of the body from the breast cancer. This is an outpatient surgery.
